There is a special fan ceremony that you can do each morning upon waking. It is called "cutting the chi" and its purpose is to create a bubble of protective energy all around the body so that you an go about your business each day protected.
Each morning upon waking, sit with the feet touching the floor and back straight.
Open your sandalwood fan and start at the head and go down the entire body in soft wide circles going over the head, the chest, the right side of the body, torso, legs, ankles and feet then going to the other side of the body softly waving the fan in circular movements.
If you choose, recite “Om mani padme hone” and upon completion, sit quietly for a second and give thanks for all your blessings. You are ready to face the day.
This is not a religious exercise but instead, an inner feng shui exercise for personal protection and centering.
